What If Island: Island 101C on the St. Lawrence River
What If Island is a small private island in the 1000 Islands near Ivy Lea, Rockport and Gananoque, Ontario. This little gem of a property is off the grid, providing you with an opportunity to reduce your carbon footprint. However, many of the comforts of home are still available: Hot water shower, quality bed linens provided, Propane fridge with feezer, stove with oven and broiler and a propane BBQ. An air tight wood stove is available for use on those cooler evenings or early mornings. Solar panels collect energy during the day which is stored int he battery system for evening hours. There is a generator back up which will run electric appliances and tools.
Sleeps 6. 2 bedrooms and a sleeping loft. Open Plan kitchen, livingroom and dining area. Cell phones work from this location.
From the Living Room the VIEW streteches for 2 miles! Sit with your coffee on the back deck and watch the deer come to drink in the morning and listen to and watch the Loons in the evening.
Fish from the dock, or go out in the boat which is available with the cottage. Good swimming on the south west side of the island. The water here is shallow and therefore much warmer than many parts of the St. Lawrence River.
